Hatch — Fee & Payment Policy

For Students and Parents (Classes 11–12 / Junior College)

Effective from: 15/11/2025
Applies to: All Hatch studio programs, including the Flagship (32 hours) and Starter (16 hours) cohorts, and any add-on sprints or labs unless otherwise stated.
By completing payment, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they are authorised to act on behalf of the student and that they have read and agreed to this Fee & Payment Policy.

1. Program Fees

1.1. Standard Fees
Hatch charges a program fee for each studio cohort. Current standard fees are:

  • Flagship Studio (32 hours) – ₹28,500 per student + 18% GST

  • Starter Studio (16 hours) – ₹14,900 per student +18% GST


(Exact fees for your chosen cohort will be clearly stated in your offer email / brochure / Tally form at the time of enrolment.)

1.2. What the Fee Includes

Unless otherwise specified in the program description, fees include:

  • Live online studio sessions (as per published schedule)

  • Access to class recordings (where provided)

  • Assignments, briefs, worksheets and critique/input during the program.

  • Portfolio/Project feedback based on the Hatch evaluation system.


Fees do not include: hardware, software licences, internet costs, exam application fees, college application fees or any other third-party charges.

2. Payment Schedule & Due Dates

2.1. Full Payment Option (Default)
By default, fees are to be paid in full:

  • At the time of accepting the offer, and

  • No later than 5 calendar days before the cohort start date (whichever is earlier).


Your seat is only confirmed after payment is received and acknowledged by Hatch.

2.2. Instalment Option (If Offered)
Where explicitly offered in writing, parents may choose a 2-part instalment plan:

  • Instalment 1 – Booking Fee:


    • 60% of the total program fee

    • Due within 3 calendar days of receiving the offer

    • Confirms the student’s seat in the cohort


  • Instalment 2 – Balance Amount:


    • Instalment 2 – Balance Amount.

      • Remaining 40% of the program fee

      • For the Starter (16-hour) cohort: due no later than 3 calendar days before the start of Session 3.

      • For the Flagship (32-hour) cohort: due no later than 3 calendar days before the start of Session 6.

    • If Instalment 2 is not received by the due date, Hatch reserves the right to:

      • Suspend or cancel the student’s participation in the cohort, and

      • Treat the Booking Fee as non-refundable, unless otherwise agreed in writing.

2.3. Late Enrolments
For enrolments confirmed within 5 days of the cohort start date, the entire program fee is payable upfront at the time of confirmation.

3. Modes of Payment

3.1. Accepted Payment Methods

Payments may be made via:

  • UPI

  • Net banking / bank transfer

  • Credit / debit card via authorised payment gateway

  • Other methods as specified in the payment link or invoice.


3.2. Payment Confirmation

  • A payment is considered successful only when it reflects in our bank/payment gateway and you receive a written confirmation / receipt from Hatch.


  • Please retain screenshots or bank references until you receive confirmation from Hatch.


4. Refunds, Cancellations & Deferrals

4.1. Cooling-Off Period (Before Cohort Start)
If you wish to withdraw after paying but before the cohort starts:

  • If written notice is received more than 14 days before the cohort start date:
    • 100% of the fee paid will be refunded, after deducting any non-recoverable payment gateway charges.

  • If written notice is received between 7 and 14 days (inclusive) before the cohort start date:
    • 50% of the fee paid will be refunded.

  • If written notice is received less than 7 days before the cohort start date:
    • No refund will be issued, but Hatch may, at its discretion, offer a one-time deferral to a later cohort (see 4.3).


4.2. After the Cohort Has Started

Once the cohort has commenced (i.e., after the first live session), no refunds will be issued in any circumstance, including:

  • Student absence for any reason

  • Changes in school timetable, exam schedule, or personal commitments

  • Technical issues at the student’s end (device, internet, etc.)


4.3. Deferral to a Future Cohort

Subject to availability and at Hatch’s discretion:

  • A one-time deferral to a future cohort may be granted if:

    • The request is made before the second live session, and

    • There is a valid documented reason (exam clashes, medical issues, relocation, etc.)

  • If approved, the fee already paid will be adjusted towards the next available cohort of the same type.

  • A rescheduling fee of ₹1,000 (inclusive of applicable taxes) will be charged if a deferral is approved and will be communicated at the time of deferral.

4.4. Program Cancellation by Hatch

If Hatch cancels a program or cohort before it starts (for any reason including low enrolments, faculty unavailability, or technical reasons), you will be offered:

  • A full refund of all fees paid, or

  • The option to transfer to a later cohort at no additional cost.


If Hatch is required to discontinue a cohort after it has started, we will:

  • Offer a fair pro-rated refund based on the number of remaining sessions, or

  • Provide make-up sessions / alternate schedules where reasonably possible.


5. Attendance, Recordings & No-Shows

5.1. Student Responsibility

  • Students are responsible for attending live sessions on time.
    Absence, late arrival, or early departure from sessions does not entitle them to any refund, fee reduction or additional 1:1 sessions.

5.2. Recordings

  • Where recordings are provided, these are for personal reference only and cannot be shared, copied, distributed, or published.


6. Discounts, Scholarships & Offers

6.1. Discount Codes & Offers

  • Any promotional discounts or early-bird offers will be explicitly stated in writing.

  • Discounts apply only if all specified conditions (e.g. payment deadline) are met.

  • Discounts are non-transferable and cannot be combined unless expressly mentioned.


6.2. Scholarships / Concessions

  • Hatch may offer limited need-based or merit-based concessions at its sole discretion.

  • Scholarship decisions are final and will be communicated in writing.

  • Scholarship students are subject to the same payment timelines for any remaining amount.


7. Enrolment via Partner Schools

7.1. School-Coordinated Enrolments

If a student joins Hatch through a partner school or junior college:

  • The payment route (direct to Hatch vs to school) will be clearly communicated in your enrolment mail.

  • In case the school collects fees on Hatch’s behalf, the school is responsible for transferring the agreed amount to Hatch.


7.2. Applicable Terms

  • This Fee & Payment Policy still applies to the student/parent relationship with Hatch.

  • Any additional school-specific policies (e.g. school-level refunds, timetabling rules) are separate and should be checked with the school.


8. Taxes & Invoices

8.1. Taxes

  • All program fees listed in Section 1.1 are exclusive of GST.

  • GST will be charged at the applicable rate at the time of invoicing (currently 18% for most educational coaching services in India, subject to change as per law).


8.2. Invoices & Receipts

  • Digital receipts/invoices will be issued for all payments received.

  • Please verify your name, email and contact details at the time of payment for accurate documentation.


9. Non-Payment & Default

9.1. Failure to Pay on Time

If the required fee or instalment is not paid by the due date:

  • Hatch may suspend or cancel the student’s participation in the cohort,

  • Access to recordings, materials, and future sessions may be withdrawn, and

  • Any Booking Fee already paid may be treated as non-refundable.


10. Changes to Fees & Policy

Hatch reserves the right to:

  • Revise program fees for future cohorts, and

  • Update this Fee & Payment Policy from time to time.


However:

  • Any changes will not affect students who have already received and accepted a written offer for a specific cohort under clearly stated fees and terms.


11.Nature of Service & No Guarantees 

Hatch is a supplementary creative coaching and portfolio atelier and is not a school, college, university, or institution recognised under any board or statutory body. Hatch does not guarantee admission to any specific college or course, internships, jobs, or placements. Our role is to support students in building stronger portfolios, processes, and presentations; final decisions rest with external institutions.

12. Governing Law

This Fee & Payment Policy shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of India. Any disputes arising from or related to this Policy will be subject to the jurisdiction of the courts of [Bengaluru / your city], India. and portfolio atelier and is not a school, college, university, or institution recognised under any board or statutory body.
